THE INSTITUTE FOR INSURANCE INNOVATION B.V. is responsible for processing your personal data and informs you that this data will be processed in accordance with the provisions in the regulations on personal data protection, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679, of 27 April 2016 (GDPR).
The Institute for Insurance Innovation takes your personal data seriously and monitors how your personal data is used within our organization. The personal data obtained by The Institute for Insurance Innovation is limited to what is necessary for the specified and legitimate purposes for which it is processed. We process your personal data on the basis of one or more of the following legal grounds, as required under GDPR Article 6:
Performance of a contract – where data processing is necessary for fulfilling a contract with you.
- Legitimate interest – where data processing is necessary for legitimate interests, such as improving our services and marketing activities, provided that such interests are not overridden by your rights.

Personal data and the purposes of processing
The Institute for Insurance Innovation may obtain and process personal data from visitors to its websites, attendees, speakers, and sponsors of The Institute for Insurance Innovation’s education courses, masterclasses, marketing services, and (virtual) events. Such personal data may include:
- Name
- Company name
- Job title
- Email address
- Country of residence
- Gender
The Institute for Insurance Innovation processes the personal data for the following purposes:
- Sending commercial communications via email, calls, fax, SMS, MMS, social media channels, or any other electronic or physical media, present or future, that enables commercial communications. These communications may be related to our products and services or those of our partners and/or sponsors.
- Processing orders, payments, applications, or any type of request made by using any of the contact or registration forms made digitally available by The Institute for Insurance Innovation and/or its partners or sponsors in joint initiatives.
- Sending communications, including but not limited to, newsletters and thought leadership blogs.
- Sharing limited personal data of attendees, including press, analysts, and bloggers, with partners, sponsors, speakers, and attendees before and/or during an educational course, masterclass, or event organized by The Institute for Insurance Innovation.
- Using images (pictures and videos) captured during an event organized by The Institute for Insurance Innovation for promotional purposes.
- Conducting statistical studies for research and service improvement.
Data preservation criteria
Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law.
Once data is no longer needed, it will be deleted or anonymized in accordance with GDPR guidelines.
Communication of personal data
Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties, except:
- If The Institute for Insurance Innovation engages a third party to act on its behalf (e.g., an email service provider for sending mailings).
- If limited personal data needs to be shared with partners, sponsors, speakers, or attendees in relation to a course, event or other initiative organized by The Institute for Insurance Innovation.
- If required by law or regulatory authorities.
When the Institute for Insurance Innovation engages third parties located outside the EEA, personal data may be transferred outside the EEA.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
This policy shall be exclusively governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this policy will be resolved by the competent authority in the Netherlands or the competent court in The Hague, the Netherlands.
